1) I went to Calgary, Alberta, Canada for work September 12th - 16th. Calgary is a great city. The cool weather was such a nice change from the Texas summer heat. I didn't take our fancy camera - just the point and shoot. I regret that choice, because there were so many beautiful photo oportunities there. Oh well... maybe I'll get to go up there again.
2) Chris and I are both studying to take the licensing exam to become Professional Engineers. It's an 8 hour test that will take place at the end of this month. I study at lunch time; I study in the evenings; I study allll weekend. Chris has the same study schedule. Hopefully, our studying will result in needing to order new business cards with the initials "P.E." tacked on to our names. I cannot believe how much stuff I've forgotten since college - the saying "use it or lose it" is more true that I ever imagined. Good new is: I feel like Celine Dion - It's All Coming Back To Me Now. (associating song titles with what's going on in my life is a weird
3) Did I mention that we have been studying a lot?
4) Last night was National Night Out here in Texas. We have lived in our house for almost 3 years and have never had the opportunity to attend National Night Out. One guy told my husband, "You look so familiar." Turns out, we see the side of his house from our front door. He literally lives right across the street from us. We share the same mailbox stand. It was good to meet some more of our neighbors.
5) Chris and I have planned a vacation for later in the year to celebrate 4 years of marriage and taking our P.E. exam. I am counting the days until the vacation. I need a break from work... badly.
6) My Mom, Grandmother, and Cousin came to visit during the Labor Day Holiday weekend. Chris and I took my cousin's senior pictures at three locations in / around Houston. It was a fun weekend, and that was our first semi-professional photography session. It was pro bono, but it still counts.. sort of. The pictures are amazing. I just can't believe that my little cousin is a senior. How did that happen? Just yesterday, I was taking my senior photos, counting down the days until leaving my parents' house, and anticipating going off to college. Time flies.
I guess that's it for now.
