In early November 2016, we took a family trip to Ruston, LA for the Louisiana Tech Homecoming game. After the game and when we got back to the car, my phone was missing. Maybe I thought I slid it in my purse, and it actually fell to the ground. Maybe someone reached in my purse in the crowd and took it. But it was gone. I had backed up my phone in February, but my pictures from February to November were gone. Collin's reaction to Champ (the mascot) = My reaction to losing my phone.
We took vacation for the week of Thanksgiving. We started off our vacation by taking family pictures in a park downtown. It was COLD and windy. We spent a couple of days at home before heading to visit my family for Thanksgiving. We stayed at my Grandmother's house. She always hosts Thanksgiving dinner. It was fun to see family. Collin was 18 months at the time and really loving telling us the color of everything... Geen! Pu-ple! Yell-yah! In late November, I got a replacement phone. I had been using my work phone for a couple of weeks and didn't take many pictures. I didn't realize how expensive phones have become over the past couple of years.
In December, we went to my company Holiday Party. It was so fun to be out among adults after the sun went down. We took Collin to meet Santa at Memorial City Mall. He didn't cry, but he wasn't exactly thrilled. We took off the week of and week after Chrismas.

We spent a few days before Christmas visitng Chris's family in New Orleans. While we were in New Orleans, we drove-through the lights at Lafreniere Park, ate at Casa Garcia, and had fun hanging out with family. Every present that Collin opened while we were there was "wow!" He had so much fun. Of course, we went for po-boys at Chris's favorite po-boy spot.... yum!

We came back home a couple of days before Christmas. Collin really loved the Christmas tree at our house this year. Since his vocabulary was really growing at that time (it still is), he would just stand in front of the tree, point to ornaments, and say what they were - like angel, bear, and mouse. We had a really fun Christmas at home. We ordered pick-up food from a local BBQ restaurant for Christmas dinner. We had plenty of leftovers. After Christmas, we went to Zoo Lights. We thought that it would be less crowded after Christmas Day, but we were wrong! It was muggy and crowded. We were also wrong to think that Collin would like the carousel. He was ok while it was still. Once it started moving, the cried and cried. There was nothing we could do! He seemed to enjoy the rest of the Zoo Lights. I wasn't terribly impressed, so we probably won't go back. We will stick to the zoo in the daytime while the animals are out.

Also during the break, Chris and I had back-to-back dentist check-ups. No cavities for either of us! Woo. While Chris visited the dentist, I walked next door and took Collin on his first visit to the library. The library on our side of town is small, but the children's section had a lot of books that caught Collin's eye.... for about 10 seconds each. I think he was overwhelmed with the choices. My Mom and Grandma came to visit for a day. Collin opened his presents from my side of the family while they were in town. It was nice to be able to spend time with eachother, family, and friends for two weeks. Collin and Lily kept their eye on the neighborhood while we were home.

In January, Chris and I went to Disney World. This was our third time there together and my ninth time to go. We had a hard time deciding where to go for our first vacation without Collin. We didn't want to be where we couldn't be in constant communication or get back home relatively easily in case something was wrong, so no cruise or overseas travel. We had so much fun (as you can tell from my face in the picture from the Tower of Terror), and I know we made the right decision. This was our first time to have a Magic Band - being able to schedule Fast Passes on our phones was so much fun. It was also our first time for the photo pass, and we took full advantage. We have so many fun photos. It was more crowded and hot than I thought it would be, but we rode all the rides, saw all the shows, and ate at all the restaurants that we wanted. We stayed in the Contemporary, and I loved it! It's such a neat hotel.

While we were gone, Collin hung out with Lily, his Grammie, and Prissy Dog. They had fun playing in the back yard.
In February, we celebrated Chris's birthday with a trip to the Children's Museum, dinner at Taste of Texas, and cookie cake (a small one, since we were planning to start a diet three days later). Dinner was great.... until Collin got sick at the table. I think he had just eaten too much, because he was fine after that. That small picture of half of our faces and Collin looking away was the best photo we got of the three of us.

Collin looked super cute on Valentine's Day. This was the first year that Chris and I didn't go out for dinner on Valentine's Day. We had started a diet on February 13th, so our dinner at home was not amazing. We both said we should have started the diet on the 15th.

March 3rd was Go Texan Day for Collin's school. Collin wore his Woody hat from his Halloween costume. He is the cutest cowboy. He has boots, but we didn't want to send him to school in boots for a whole day. He's also the cutest St. Patrick's Day celebrator. He is really looking like a little boy these days and not really like a baby at all! wah.
