Independence Day

For Independence Day, I made a red, white, and blue rag wreath for the front door.  Making a rag wreath is so easy... all you need are good scissors, fabric, and a foam or wicker wreath.

Supplies:
pinking shears (I can't live without them)
1/4 yard of several fabrics (total of 1-1/2 yards - I didn't use it all- 3/4 yard would do)
wreath (foam or wicker - I used wicker)
optional: monogram & paint
I found the wreath in the front / bargain section of Target for only $2.50.  How great is that little section of Target??
I ordered the monogram a few months ago and thought that it would be perfect in the center of a wreath.
I cut strips of fabric about 1 inch wide and 8 inches long.  I cut 25 strips of each color for a total of 150 strips of fabric.  I used them all - the last couple I sort of squeezed in just to finish the pattern.
Tie one of each color - repeat, repeat, repeat.....
Wreath all done!
I used white fabric to tie the monogram to the wreath in four places and used a red ribbon wrapped around the wreath to hang it from the hook on my door.

This was so easy.  I can't wait to try this for Christmas with red and green!

Since my college colors are red and blue, I'm going to remove the monogram and add a bulldog for football season.  Go Louisiana Tech Dawgs!
