Alaska

In June, Chris and I went on an Alaskan cruise with my Mother-in-Law, two Sisters-in-Law, their husbands, and their children.  It really was a once-in-a-lifetime vacation.  How often can that many working people coordinate their schedules and spend the week together?  Chris and I have been to some beautiful places, but this was amazing.  We had so much fun.

First, we spent a couple of days exploring Seattle, WA.  Then we boarded the ship for our Great Alaskan Adventure.  We had four ports of call: Ketchikan, AK; Juneau, AK; Skagway, AK; and Victoria, BC.

We went to the Space Needle in Seattle.

Chris and I went on a sea plane adventure with his Mom in Ketchikan.

We spent the day all together watching for whales and marveling at the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau.

At our Skagway port of call, Chris and I rode the Whitepass Rail Road into Canada and walked across a suspension bridge with amazing views.

Chris and I took a bus tour of Victoria, BC.

Alaska is, by far, the most beautiful place we have visited.  The Misty Fjords, the wildlife, the glaciers, the friendly people... If it wasn't so cold, I'd be tempted to move there!  Being a Southern girl, it felt way more than strange to wear a jacket in June!
