Gettin' Crafty

My goal for the weekend was to find the cutest thing on Pinterest and recreate it.  One of the first things I pinned when I joined Pinterest was an awesome rosette centerpiece.  On Friday, I went to my favorite craft store for supplies.  I purchased a candle holder on sale for 80% off, green spray paint, and fabric from the clearance aisle.

I used a little of the Sunday newspaper and some masking tape to make a ball.

I painted the candle holder to match the decor in our house.

I cut strips of the fabric I purchased and some burlap that I had left over from another project, and I started to make fabric rosettes.  I glued the rosettes to the masking tape / newspaper ball.

To cover the ball, I made 32 rosettes.  My relationship with my glue gun is on the rocks... My fingertips may never be the same.  BUT... the result is exactly what I wanted.  Project success!!

This craft project was super easy and fun.  For Christmas, I could use shades of red fabric for the ball, and I can always re-paint the candle holder for any holiday.
